NOTE: The College of Engineering, Computer Science and Construction Management does not require a letter of recommendation. However, in order to be considered for University-wide scholarships, and for scholarships from the other colleges, a letter of recommendation must be submitted.

    • Recommendation providers:  A formatted letter of recommendation is included for your convenience by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page. The Letter of Recommendation requires Acrobat Reader. The form asks for an overall rating and completion of five questions that assess the applicant's abilities, talents and potential for academic success. Reference writers have three options in submitting their recommendation:
      • Complete the formatted letter of recommendation and e-mail to scholarships@csuchico.edu. This option requires Acrobat Writer, which allows you to save and e-mail the completed form. An e-mailed letter of recommendation, with all required contact information, does not need a signature.
      • Complete the formatted letter of recommendation, print and sign it, and send to us via campus or U.S. mail, or fax or hand deliver. The form heading includes all necessary contact information.
      • The formatted letter of recommendation is preferred. However, recommendations do not require this format. Reference writers may submit a current letter that addresses the same information as the form. Such references must be submitted on letterhead and include the appropriate signature.

  5. Additional Requirements: Some majors require supplemental application materials. If your major is on the list below, please contact the major department directly to obtain the supplemental application.
