  • Note:  For 08/09 budgets for undergrads reflect exact amount of estimated state university fee to be paid, other costs are averaged. For 08/09, budgets for postbaccalaureate students are averaged estimated amounts for credential and grad fees.

    *   Budgets are for a 9–month academic year. One–semester budgets are half the above amounts.
**  Non–resident students add to regular fees above an additional $339 per unit. Western University Exchange (WUE) students pay 150% State University Fee, 100% campus fees.
Fees are based on full–time enrollment. All fees are subject to change based on Board of Trustees action.

Financial need is the difference between what it costs to attend a college (COA) and what you and your family are expected to pay toward the costs (EFC, Expected Family Contribution). You are usually eligible for financial aid equal to the amount of demonstrated financial need. Generally, the amount you receive in financial aid cannot exceed the estimate of college costs.

The basic formula:
What it costs to attend (COA)
- What your family is expected to pay (EFC)
= Financial need

If you have extraordinary expenses, such as for childcare or for non–reimbursed medical costs, please consider submitting an Exceptional Circumstances Appeal.
